——–>>>Disclaimer:

Hello! This is me, Laura,  on the rare occasion when I am not drenched in sweat, covered in crusty cheerios or sticky hand prints,  have showered AND gotten dressed, AND put on makeup, AND done my hair.  So basically, if you ever run into me (literally or figuratively)  there is a 95% chance I will NOT look like this.  I will be in my “mom’s pajamas” (a.k.a. workout clothes) with my hair in a pony tail, my running shoes on… either because I’m going for a run, I’ve been on a run, and every time– because I get to run after these crazy, incredibly active, adorable, children of mine!

—->>> Disclaimer:  They usually don’t look so clean and polished. They ARE perfectly wonderful, AND difficult in their own right!

I have three passions — God, my family, and running/physical activity… in that order.

Laura Run (14)

I have been running marathons ever since I was 17 years old.  Before that, I never really knew that I liked running! My Dad bribed me to do my first marathon (he is a marathoner himself) and ever since that first race, I have been addicted! I run at least one marathon every year.  I also love to teach Barre (bar)  and Piyo at a local women’s gym.  I am pretty much obsessed with any type of physical activity– I have been a hiking guide and done triathlons, I used to play basketball and run cross country.  Basically, after my faith and family– physical activity is my happy place.  The place that I feel centered and happy– like I can survive this crazy thing called life.

I have constantly tried to find the perfect balance with my faith, family, and fitness and have learned endless lessons. My heart will burst if I don’t share! My purpose for this blog is to explore all of this and give help, tools, suggestions, information, encouragement and overall strength to you other moms out there.  We all struggle to balance our profession/passions, home, and spiritual life.  It’s what we do about these struggles that makes us great.  Let’s Maximize Mommyhood!
