{LEARN MORE ABOUT MY MATERNITY DRESS HERE}
I have never wanted maternity photos in past pregnancies and have typically related a little more to Elizabeth Banks in “What to Expect When Expecting”… (caution: some bad language)
“Pregnancies glow is made from two scoops of angel kisses.” LOL—Let’s be honest it is not always this way and especially when you have other kids to take care of, it can be a real challenge sometimes.
How I feel now…
“If I had my life to live over, instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I’d have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was a chance in life to assist God in a miracle.” -Erma Bombeck
I’ve been guilty in past pregnancies to wish the time away,focusing on the things that don’t matter like my inability to do this or that, the number on the scale, the clothes that don’t fit, or whether my body will ever be the same. As time has gone on, my perspective has changed completely.
I am beyond grateful to be creating a human life hand in hand with God. Bumps in my road of life and the lives of others close to me have changed me. The trials of others have made me realize my error. I have been so filled with gratitude for every minute of this pregnancy, every flutter and kick. I love this article called “Being The Fertile Friend.” It captures perfectly how I feel.
My heart goes out to all you women who reverence your womanhood and bring life into this world. For those who have loved, sacrificed, and lost, left with empty arms, you are stronger than us all.
Creating a human life is the greatest miracle and gift. It is such a small window of time in my life and I had to capture it. Thanks to my best friend Mandy Mon for helping me to capture the beauty of motherhood.
